I always knew Spain was filled with beautiful buildings, both old and new. What I didn’t expect was how truly breathtaking they were in person. It was all too easy to sit back with an ice-cream cone in hand and marvel at the stunning architecture this country has to offer.
There were times when I thought I was dreaming. This can’t be real! What was Gaudí thinking? How did he even begin to imagine such ornate details? What were the Moors drinking? As it obviously helped them create such astounding palaces, maybe I could have some? So many questions and superlatives, yet I could never really get the answers and words I so desperately wanted. I was constantly left speechless and in awe of the magnificent architecture that surrounded me on a daily basis.
The stunning La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
The luscious beauty that is Palacio Real de Madrid in Madrid
I couldn’t stop taking shots of the magnificent Palacio Real de Madrid. Can you really blame me?
The heartbeat of Madrid – Puerta del Sol
It’s crazy busy down at Puerta del Sol
A most stunning view while having a late lunch in Seville
The magnificent Nasrid Palaces at the Alhambra is a must-see when in Granada
The architecture in Granada is unbelievable. I don’t think I was able to do it justice with this shot
If there was ever one country you need to see for yourself, Spain would be it. I can’t wait to return someday and possibly add to my collection of architectural shots. I may not be able to add more descriptive words than I already have. But I guess at the end of the day, all I really need to say is “Viva la España”!
